As you watch 20-somethings on Instagram make what your parents couldn’t make in a lifetime, it’s tempting to think you can achieve the same success.

I know you read about the 8 year-old making $22 million a year unwrapping toys on YouTube.

This is him:

Well, I’m here to tell you it’s real. We live in a time where it’s totally achievable and not reserved for just the elite or the tech savvy.

But before you drink the Kool-aid, you should know there are roadblocks to that coveted 6 figures per month.

Here are the 3 foundational and most common hurdles:

 1. Lack of a Consistent Message

When I first launched my business in 1999, everyone needed my services.

Everyone.

So when my sales eventually started dwindling and coming to a nearly-complete halt, it was hard for me to change my mindset.

I mean – I’m an expert at online marketing.

I’ve been at it since 1999!

Who doesn’t need that?!?

I was pretty stubborn about it too.

I rebuilt my website, got a trendy new logo and started constantly posting selfies on Instagram like a 14 year-old with the latest Huawei

I didn’t choose a niche until I was left with 2 options:

  • Option A: Cave and get a real job (not happening).
  • Option B: Choose a niche.

So I grudgingly chose a niche.

And it was at that exact moment that everything came together:

I knew what to say.

How to say it.

Where to say it.

and

I knew exactly who was going to buy.

Once I established who was most like to buy my services – my website, my copy, my email sequence, my funnel – all come together to reflect my target audience’s goals and objectives and gave me the opportunity to address their objection with clarity and precision.

Does your value proposition match your brand identity and your brand message?

2. Obscurity

The first time I launched a website for my business, I thought I was going to be rich by the end of the month.

The first time I bought a Google ad, I thought I was going to be rich by the end of the month

The first time I did a live on Instagram, I thought was going to be rich by the end of the month.

Instead of becoming rich at the end of the month, I spoke for 20 minutes straight about a killer marketing strategy to absolutely no one.

NO ONE.

LIVE.

The average conversion rate online is 1 to 3%. With a consistent branding and marketing strategy, the conversion rate can increase up to 30%.

Assuming you’re talking to the right people, in the right place and at the right time, do you know how many people you need to reach in order to make $100,000 per month.

Once you’re created a brand strategy that is clear and precision how will you generate awareness for your services?

3. No sales Process

This one time, I was at the zoo trying to get the attention of 2 giraffes for a cool Instagram selfie.

A 20-something college student approached me, clipboard and pen in hand, and ask me if I was interested in signing up to a low-interest credit card with some bank.

(It almost cost me the giraffe shot.)

I said no.

But seeing how evident it was that the college student knew nothing about finding the right clients in the right place, I pitched him my course The Branding Bundle.

He declined and told me he was just there to sign people up to the low-interest credit cards.

Fair…

Because I was there to get a cool selfie with the giraffes.

The biggest mistake I’ve seen my clients make over the years is to treat Facebook and Instagram as their main sales process.

People aren’t on Facebook and Instagram to shop.

Social media is not a sales process.

Social media is a lead generator.

Once you’ve created a consistent message and you’ve generated awareness you’re your services – What is your sales process?

If you’re trying to sell your services and it’s not working, I get it. I’ve been there. It’s frustrating and overwhelming.

But when you nail it… it will change your life.

If you need help to learn how to

1. Attract Clients with a consistent Message

2. Generate Awareness for your Services

3. Make more money with a Sales Process
